New Season Lambs – 1,714

Auctioneer: John Rossiter 07557 392903

Top price per kilo – 355p – C A Worley Farming Ltd
Top price per head – £181.50 – C & J Georgetti & Sons

A good entry of lambs again this week with just under 1,800 penned and trade has lifted slightly again this week, particularly for the heavy weights. Some super runs of lambs on offer this week with a tremendous show of heavies from C & J Georgetti & Sons being the market toppers at £181.50 but averaging an impressive £154 hd for a run of 277 lambs. Other vendors of note include G H Dean & Co whose big run sold to a top price of £171 and H V Link & Partners who topped at £175. Bigger lambs are really wanted now with numbers being short across the country, with poor lambing percentages and fewer flocks choosing to finish with concentrates this season.  Overall, the average prices per kilo were similar to last week but the price per head were increased considerably.
