Report on trade: A big entry of lambs on offer for an August week, perhaps a sign of the times and the changing weather patterns we are now seeing each year. With well over 6,000 lambs penned, and a very busy ring of buyers present, the trade was, as expected, stronger than the first sale but not quite as hot as the second with the averages sitting midway between the two. The show of sheep was slightly stronger with some first draws of lambs on offer and thus the top pens of these runs were often well over £100 head, to a top of £122 for some smart Texel crosses from Mr Chris Woodhead who has now topped the sale for two sales running –  no small achievement. Other lambs on offer including a nice section of Suffolk Mule wethers, which were hotly competed for, with a top in the section going to D Howard Farms at £117 with their run averaging £110.
