Report on trade: A small sale of about 3,000 lambs as the season draws towards a close. Trade has really taken off in the last two weeks with the rise in the finished price and keep availability being main factors in the confidence of buyers who are very keen to acquire numbers of store lambs for the upcoming hogget season. The average price per head this week has, probably, hit the highest point we have been this year at £97 with all types included. Lambs of strength were in excess of £100 head and to a top price of £128 from Maytham Wharf for the fourth consecutive sale. A super entry of strong lambs from Ian Strang were the star run of the day, with 215 lambs selling to average over £120 head.
