Report on trade: A smaller turnout of stores this week as we get closer to the end of the Friday selling season, and numbers begin to decline. Saying this, the quality of the lambs has improved in the last two sales, and averages have lifted with the improvement in the quality. We have managed to maintain the trade despite the restrictions which are showing no signs of disappearing just yet, and with just two more sales in the calendar for this year, it has been a relief to have kept the trade at a fair level for all our vendors throughout the season. There is still good demand for store lambs, and, if anything, it has increased in the last fortnight with winter keep beginning to come available. Top spot this week was taken for the third week in a row by Maytham Wharf Farm at £116 for a super pen of continental lambs with the forward sheep being £90-100, second grade lambs from £80-90 and only long term lambs below £80.
